Specialized Blade Shapes

Truax
The conventional parallel blade shape is often an effective cooling solution. For more demanding applications where reduced power consumption is required, Truflo offers the Truax blade. The Truax blade is narrower at the tip and produces a more axial air flow while maintaining the air flow and noise performance of a parallel blade . 
 

Sickle
A sickle shaped blade, which is wider at the tip, reduces noise while maintaining the same air flow as a parallel blade. Customer applications have shown up to 10 dBA noise reduction in real world installations.

Varichord Fans
Varichord is an all-steel fan range, available in sizes from 600 mm (24”) to 1250 mm (49”) in diameter. These fans have unique features which include adjustable blade angles and the ability to withstand high-temperatures up to 600° C (1,112° F) for 2 hours. The Varichord range are designed for high-temperature applications such as smoke extraction, car park ventilation, and tunnel ventilation. 

Reversible Fans
The reversible range gives the ability to manually adjust the blade within the hub to change the direction of air flow. This feature is particularly beneficial when the application benefits from a periodic reversal of air flow to clear debris from the radiator eg. forestry equipment.

Fully Reversible Fans
The fully reversible fan is essentially a spider fan with a special blade profile. The efficient symmetrical cross section means that in emergency situations the fan motor can be reversed to give airflow in the opposite direction.

ConsultationServices
The Cooling Division offers a consultation service to help customers in set the radiator and shroud, and optimize the axial position of the fan in the shroud and tip clearance. Alternative shroud designs or modifications can be recommended. This service is provided by utilizing the purpose built wind tunnel which meets the ISO 5801 (AMCA 210) standards.
