The Oil industry served by the PTI Silencer Division include off-shore oil platform power generation systems, well drilling and fracturing equipment.  Often times, PTI silencers are selected for OEM applications because of custom engineered requirements for sound attenuation as well as physical space limitations.  Spark Arresting silencers are often used in these applications because of the potential of flammable/explosive atmospheres.  Furthermore, PTI’s spark arrestors are certified by DNV and BV agencies.  Stainless steel products are usually specified because of the corrosive environment.

The Gas segment is comprised of natural gas compressor sites, well drilling equipment and well fracturing equipment.  Typically, our silencers and catalytic converter products are utilized in these types of applications where a high degree of sound attenuation is required as well as emissions aftertreatment.  Most gas compression sites in North America require exhaust aftertreatment because these sites typically operate 24/7/365 and are permitted by Air Quality Agencies.  PTI’s catalytic converter expertise is well matched to meet the requirements specified by these governmental agencies.

The Marine market segment consists of military/coast guard and commercial workboat applications.  PTI has provided silencer systems to foreign and domestic government’s military/coast guard vessels for many years and is highly respected for custom application design and high quality manufacturing.  Specialty stainless steel silencers and components are often specified for these applications because of the corrosive environment.  Spark Arrestors are also typically required in these industrial marine applications where DNV and BV agency certification makes PTI an excellent choice.

Also use Phillips and Temro engine block heaters, air intake heaters, diesel fuel warmers and tank style circulation heaters to avoid cold weather related starting problems in these environments.
